In her works, Paulína Halasová (02.10.1992) focuses the viewer's attention on the customary social norms in which we grow up as part of society, we take them over and they become our personalized myths that we have believed. Myths accepted by society shape not only our ideas about the world, but also about ourselves. Paradoxically, they are the source that forms what we consider to be our personality. The accumulation of manufactured images about the world and ourselves are in direct conflict with the world as such and result in destructive states such as anxiety, depression, anger and existential crisis. The work ANGER MADE ME BLIND reflects how anger can rule us. Paulína Halasová graduated in painting at VŠVU (2017). Her work belongs to a strong generation of figurative painters. She moved from expressing herself through realistic images to creating drawings that "get to the point" without the need for aesthetic appeal. Halasová works with a rough handwriting that reflects the sharpness and truthfulness of the depicted situation. She first started creating drawings on paper and digitally. Later, they were transferred back to the canvas, as a medium that is close to her. Subsequently, the background ceased to be a limit for her and she applied the drawings to large-format foils and objects. This is how fluid works were created that oscillate between drawing, painting and sculpture.

Halasova represents an influential generation of young artists. Her art work is actively presented in eminent galleries. Realistic techniques are alternated with suggestive linear drawings and illustrations. In the simplified form, the symbolic language is maintained. Apparent sweet look is disturbed by it's enigma and curiosity. This complex form of art presentation stress nuances of human relations and meaning of today's world. Besides classical art forms, Halasova uses digital art, drawings illustrations and sculptures. The quality of Halasova’s art work is confirmed by being shortlisted in prestige competitions: VUB painting competition /2019, 2020/ and Triennial of portrait painting /2021/. Her paintings are included in GUS gallery collections.
