About The Artwork

This color photograph was taken in the gardens at Biltmore Estate in Asheville North Carolina. As a visually impaired photographer I noticed how looking at plants through the glass of greenhouses nearly replicates the lack of vision in my blind eye. I have personally lived with this image in several different spaces in my house. When hung in a large bathroom it offers the sensation of being in a sauna in the tropics. When placed in another room it offers a focal point when meditation. Breathe seemed like a perfect title for the work. I offer this limited edition print on aluminum as it floats off the wall creating an instant focal point. I have also seen this work framed in white and it also looks spectacular. Each dye sublimation print on aluminum is signed, numbered and dated on the back.

Prior to receiving his M.F.A. from Ohio University, he completed his B.F.A. from Indiana University studying photography and sculpture. The choice of photographic equipment, process and materials needs to have a good marriage with concept and content.
