About The Artwork

Inspired by a Northern Light's theme, Symbiosis illustrates the interaction between ourselves and the universe. Since the Northern Lights are a result of collisions between particles in the Earth's atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun's atmosphere, it evokes the collision of two worlds: our human life's world and all of our preoccupations versus the natural world and all of its science. We tend to forget how the world's creation is almost miraculous, by being most often too self consumed by our life and daily little things. This piece illustrates a human figure being absorbed by natural lighting, making one. The line patterns and colours, representing the Northern Lights, are also used for the body, making both world collide, in perfect symbiosis.
