About The Artwork
This piece evokes the capacity of softness of the human body. Delicate watercolor gives figure a feeling of softness while also revealing how precious this vessel is. The white spaces in the form reveal the careful spontaneity of the medium--I am allowed no second chances, no mistakes, thus, I must take up the brush with absolute intention, and yet, also with such softness. Ethereality is a theme throughout my work, and this particular piece joins a series of figurative watercolors that take this to the most delicate extreme.
