About The Artwork
An imaginative coastal setting with a strong evening sky. A small boat sails away to open waters. I was in part influenced by the Fauve style of impressionist art of the late nineteenth century and the bold colour style of today while painting this composition. Strong brush strokes, complemented by the use of a pallet knife further help this approach. Painted onto a standard stretched canvas and ready to hang.

I was born into a family of practicing artists with the smell of paint and pencils wafting through the house. I was trained as a carpet designer, attending art college for three years part time while being mentored by an experienced designer in the studio of the company I was apprenticed to. The basic training was that of any fine artist and I have always painted. Most of my paintings are based on sketches and photographs that I have made of people, places and things. I have sold paintings through out the UK, USA and Saudi Arabia. I have exhibited at the Birmingham Open, Harris Brush Works and The Malvern Theatres in England. I hope you like my paintings.
