About The Artwork
This painting is one of my latest landscapes. It is based on a view across the local countryside in early summer when there is an abundance of gold coloured rapeseed flowers growing. The beauty of the powerful oak standing tall against the backdrop of colour inspired me to paint this scene. I used quick marks and loose paint in a free and spontaneous way.

Born 1965,Northampton, UK. I am currently painting and drawing from my studio in an old shoe factory in my home town of Northampton. 1988 - I graduated with a BA (hons) in Fashion and Textiles with Business . My work experience as a textile designer includes London-based fashion and furnishing studios and the contemporary interiors company; Designers Guild. During my training as a textile designer, I developed my own style of painting, printing and drawing. Paint has always been my medium of choice. Oils are particularly preferential, as they enable me to create areas of surface texture or depth by layering and adding mediums for flow.
