About The Artwork

I always get very annoyed when someone ask me for my statement, because the painted images are so obvious to me And then I keep asking myself what is a “expression”? the action of making known one's thoughts or feelings. So I paint like a robot probe, like a discovery pioneer, like a like a probe robot, like a pioneer of discovery, like a survey artifact, like the pioneers of distant lands who wrote down everything in a little notebook and made sketches, I paint what I see, whether it is a static subject or a scene that I see in my mind and mix with reality, where I see a desolate deserted street, I imagine a deer escaping from the ending of the world and there is the captured image, there the robot information goes down and the stage appears. With the passage of time the simple objects/subjects became more complex, the simple plant or person or electricity tower occupied a place in a scene where something was happening. The framing is always direct and frontal, the colors are always vivid, the robot paints what he sees without much thought, it is an observer, the reflection comes later, with the use of the word comes the complex, with the response of the receiver comes the magic. In the last series the observer stayed inside, the trip was interior Observing through the window what happened with the objects of their exploration, what became of them, how each one survived, the task was like finding beauty within the chaos, each painting became a postcard saved from the catastrophe.

Eloísa Ballivian paintings think about well being culture as a force of nature. In large scale, her paintings take over the viewer like a wave centered in the gaze. Her paintings look at us from a dream-like world, where thoughts are present as emotions trapped in time. Eloisa's artwork begins as photographs whose take on a new life as paintings, where objects travel to their new life where they become sentient beings. Her cars and plants exude emotion, making us travel to the California as a sensual desert of flying cars that looms in our wet techie dreams. Born in Argentina, Eloisa grew up between Madrid and Buenos Aires, and she recently relocated in Los Angeles.
