Even if Monet's interpretation of the waterlily pond remains forever unsurpassed, the beauty of the subject was too compelling so I ventured on my own rendition, in my own style. The inspiration is the waterlily pond in the beautiful Botanical Gardens in my hometown of Iasi. The canvas has the sides painted in continuity with the main image, so it can be also hung unframed or with an exterior frame.
