About The Artwork
My painting has been inspired by the countless moments I have read an intriguing article or book about some event current or historical that has captured my attention and imagination. In these moments of complete absorption in the written or printed word I have found myself so deep in thought and focus, that if felt like sort of a trance state was entered, and I was capable of blocking and becoming oblivious to extra external sounds or stimuli around me. The fascination with a story or a novel that was able to capture my interest and full concentration enabled me and transported me to a deeper level of thought and consciousness. It is this dynamic, silent, deeply private moment of attending to words, ideas, images of information from a written source that I have attempted to visualize in this painting, as well as in the composition of 'Reflection'.
