About The Artwork
The artist spent an enjoyable day in the town of Perigueux with wife, parents-in-law and his sister and her husband. They stayed in Bergerac for a month long holiday and visited castles, towns and rivers every day. Such a beautiful area! Amazingly they met a French tour guide on the gabarres tour boats, who had lived in Perth WA (where artist lives); the tour guide was so excited to talk about her experiences in Australia! The artist loves capturing the people in a busy street and sitting at cafes. More of an impression with enough there for the mind to fill in the detail. Jos paints with large brushes and bold loose brush strokes in vibrant colours. His style is Spontaneous Realism and his loyal customers call it Happy Art!
