About The Artwork
Inspiration This painting was inspired by this gorgeous view that I came across this summer on my travels. The light over the ocean was magical and the islands were peeking through the mist. I wanted to capture everything in that moment. The combination of the darker, more saturated colors in the foreground play off the more pastel shades in the distance. There is endless depth in this painting and your gaze melts into the horizon. This painting is acrylic on exhibition grade wood panel. The paint is artist quality and archival grade. All sides (front, sides and back) have been sealed with clear gesso and the front and sides have been sanded. The sides are unpainted and are exposed wood. The painting has been varnished with a clear UV varnish.
