"The portrait of Oscar Wilde" Charcoal on french artist paper,Canson, size A3 With this portrait I wanted to try to bring back to life the superb 19th century poet and dandy Oscar Wilde, king of unforgettable aphorisms like: " I can resist everything but temptations" "To live is the rarest thing in the world, most people only exist" etc... I wanted him to look back at the viewer in his own provocative way, brilliant and above us all, like the beautiful Dorian in his book "The portrait of Dorian Grey", before his face was altered.
