About The Artwork
Old Hawthorn tress are said to have magic properties and are surrounded by superstition in Ireland. They are often found in sacred burial grounds and the fairies are said to live near by. The wind often shapes the Hawthorn in a figure in the landscape and are often seen standing alone or in pairs as the locals dare not cut them down. I wish to show the mystery of the wonderful life of these trees.
