"Bread with Tomatoes" is a clever reinterpretation of the beloved Catalan classic, "Pa amb Tomàquet." The artwork showcases a loaf of rustic bread, its crusty texture conjuring up images of home-cooked, substantial fare. Atop the bread lie three halved tomatoes, their vibrant red interiors providing a vivid contrast to the bread's earthy hues. A baker's peel, the traditional tool of the trade, rounds out the scene, hinting at the craftsmanship that goes into bread-making. The composition is set against a warm amber backdrop, with the bread and tomatoes appearing to float amongst a scatter of crumbs and a swirl of lines, suggesting the movement and energy of creation. This playful piece pays tribute to the simplicity and beauty of one of Catalonia's most cherished dishes, transformed into a still life that captures both the gaze and the appetite.

Vicenç started painting oil on canvas in 1971, when he was only fourteen years old. As Vincent Van Gogh, Vicenç Marco also signs his artworks with the name, Vicenç. Although Antoni Tàpies has been the painter who has influenced his paintings the most, Vicenç has always felt very influenced by impressionist painters, specially for Paul Cezanne. He discovered photography shortly after painting. He started taking only in black and white photos. The black and white negatives and prints were developed by himself. This allowed him to engage in the development process and achieve the desired results. While he studied fine arts at the Escola Massana in Barcelona, he discovered the world of graphic design. He was fascinated by the idea of making graphic compositions with fonts, illustrations and photographs. In 1988 he acquired his first Mac computer, which allowed him to gather fonts, illustrations and photographs in a single support to create any kind of graphic project. Although he has never abandoned the traditional techniques of drawing and painting, nowadays all his works are done digitally. Drawings, typography and photographys continue being the sources in which he bases his artworks. The final artwork is not a closed piece but an inspiration point for the viewer, says Vicenç. He think that each of his artworks are the beginning of a story, a path, a journey that we could do.
