About The Artwork
This was taken during a very intense time when my mother was taken ill and we had to walk to her house in the next village on a daily basis. This walk was a familiar shortcut through fields that took us about 30 minutes. During this heavy period of uncertainty and sadness, the weather grew increasingly wet and cold. Although it was a challenging time, we still enjoyed the beautiful rural walk despite the conditions. This hauntingly atmospheric image I feel sums up the emotions my wife and I were going through, but at the same time with the light on the path and distance guiding us home.
