About The Artwork
Julia Margaret Cameron worked on her sublime portraits of children angels about 150 years ago, and her work became, for me, a distant template for some real life portraits. Instead of inviting my subjects into studio for a session, I do visit them in their native settings. After receiving a permission I photograph my subjects and friendly relations is established. Swami Pagal is a Hindu yogi from a royal tradition dating back to king Akbar. Founder of this ascetic tradition is called Swami Haridas. He was appointed as a Court teacher of music and poetry. One of his student was the prominent Mian Tansen.
