I love painting Trigo. He's a fabulous little powerhouse of a horse and every time I see him he is a slightly different colour. Palomino is a great colour to work with though as you can have a lot of fun going a bit psychedelic. In this picture he's being ridden in competition by Portuguese dressage rider, Vasco Miro Godhino. What I particularly love about this combination is that even on the loosest of rein, Trigo carries himself impeccably. This is on a standard pre-stretched canvas frame and will come ready to hang.

I love horses, and I love to paint them and more recently their riders too! I work out of a tiny space up on a Scottish hillside overlooking the Moray Firth and the mountains to the north. Its boiling in summer and freezing in winter. I've been around horses pretty much all of my life and been very lucky to have had a number of beautiful ones in my care. Being so close to them every day has given me an in depth awareness of their anatomy as well as their spirit.
