This is the first in the collection of paintings titled, "This is Love". It is a thoughtful work about the daily struggles we humans go through to remember that love is the most important thing in life. I cared for several dying relatives and in the end it wasn't about posessions or fame - it was about how much love had been shared in a life time. I want to use these paintings to remind us all of this. What the world considers love to be very often is not: It tends to be more self serving whereas the true form of love is found in service to others. The forgetting of self. These images are symbolic of that daily struggle.

WWW.JANETTEMARVINSTUDIO.COM Janette uses her art to record a memory that brought joy or to capture a moment of calm. She feels the world could use images that bring a smile or tranquility as opposed to the jarring images we see on a daily basis. We get enough of that in the news - our living space should be enveloped with a positive force and this includes what we choose to view. Marvin studied art at Georgia State University and St. Andrews College where she received a BA degree in art. She has always been keen to try her hand at most art mediums and enjoys painting a huge variety of subject matter. She spent 30 years working with interior designers across several states all the while teaching art at a private school and accepting hundreds of commissions. She was on the local Arts Council board putting on art shows and helped other artists find success. Marvin specializes in extra large murals. She grew up in Brazil which has influenced her creative process over the years.
