About The Artwork
“The Rose” is one of the most intimate artwork I have ever created: it’s me, as an adult artist, painting myself, as a child. But, instead of a brush (there are no brushes and no color tubes on the table near the artist, no colors on the palette that the artist holds in the left hand, and the canvas is emty), I’m holding a rose in my fist, ready to strike a blow to the Death that hides on the cloth of the child’s backround. That rose, also, became the symbol of my work, along with the slogan: “Art is an IMMORTAL BEAUTY, an escape from the ugliest things of life, a beauty the artist wishes to share with the world.”
