About The Artwork
I painted this sketch inspired by echoes of fauvism and cubism at difficult time in my life. I was in a place where I was striving for inner balance and trying to make sense of the world. This struggle is apparent underneath the clear-cut composition of the image: the environment is made up of flaming colors, while the model stands upright, clothed in white, gray and black, shades that reference cool reason and introversion.
