About The Artwork
This little still life was inspired by this little aluminum letter "E" that I found digging in an antique shop in France. Black, white and red has always been a fascinating colour combination for me. These colours are aposematic used by venomous animals in nature as warning colors and research has shown that animals, including humans, have a deep rooted reaction to these colors.

Born in South Africa and currently living in France. I originally trained as an interior designer but changed tracks later in life when I was seduced by oil paint. I am fascinated by the emotional bonds that we have with decorative objects and interior spaces, becoming elevated when we capture these on film or art. I am self taught and work mainly in oil, influenced by the Dutch masters and contemporary Realist movement.
