About The Artwork
Going every summer for vacations to the Island of Oleron (west coast of France), as kids, we loved to play in the dunes (without damaging them!). The dune is the portal to the beach and the ocean. There is this moment of anticipation, before reaching the top, just before you can see the sea, the waves and the shore. And coming back from the beach, there is always this last glimpse of the ocean. This was painted with the ocean in the back. Behind this dune, the path go through a forest of pine trees which have this refreshing fragrance in the afternoon summer heat.
