The battle of evermore is an old song featured on Led Zeppelin’s untitled 1971 album Inspired by J.J.R. Tolkien. The title is also a huge reference from our personal challenges in life and how must to do our “best” to heal and win our daily challenges, battles… In this series also i use titles like: Fictional battles names or Pilot logbook numbers. The Pilot logbook is is a record of a pilot’s flying hours. It contains every flight a pilot has flown, including flight time, number of landings, and types of instrument approaches made. I use these titles as a metaphor of the different events in our daily life. I create works which highlight the wonders of daily life that go unnoticed; moments that shape our trajectories but are so fleeting, they are often overlooked. My artwork revolves around highlighting the banal events as wonders and I see daily life challenges as an altar for meditation and fascination. This fascination translates to pure logical forms like circles as backdrops or layers to calligraphy forms, maybe a kind of Glossolalia. I made my own handmade calligraphy to write over textures, forms or portraits to express ideas about time, music and challenges in life. The harmonious compositions are a tribute to the passage of time in people’s life, a life that can be shaped by challenges, but also interactions and meaningful encounters that shape our reality and deepest beliefs.
