It was a hot summer day, the hottest day that I could ever remember in Canada. I could feel the smell of the trees and the fresh forest air as I was walking towards the river. I stepped in the cold water and felt immediate relief and so much gratitude for being able to enjoy nature so close to home. I tried to translate this experience into the painting.
