About The Artwork
This is quite a big painting for me. The canvas is on a wooden stretcher and is framed in a simple stripwood frame, both of which I made myself. The figures were inspired by Greek and Roman sculptural friezes and the structure they are standing in is features the beautifully carved stone capitals which are a part of Beckford Tower in Bath, England. The figures, which for me have a Shakespearian flavour, are engaged in some mysterious dialogue which I'm afraid I cannot shed much light on. The whippet is owned by a friend of mine and is called India.
