About The Artwork
Since first becoming aware of the surrealist movement in the world of art, I was vastly intrigued by the works of Dorothea Tanning, MC Escher, Salvador Dali, etc. Their insightful approach to the bounds of reality and the openness of perception they were acutely aware of gave way for others to think of things that had never conceived, to dream of concepts they had barely begun to imagine, and create their own works of art where anything was possible. 'Swimming With The Stars' is my ode to this genre; where fish can fly, where islands at midnight are bright and misty from the myriad of stars shining down upon the mysterious waters, where water and sky meet as one, and where dreams become reality.
