Swept Into Our Wounds Painting

I started this as a simple still life painting but after the recent Dobbs vs Virginia Health decision in the US, it then became something about being a container of pregnancy. The new law does not take into account pregnancy of raped 10 year old girls, the broken water in an non viable fetus, an ectopic pregnancy, or the terrible news to a young mother to be that her child has a heart defect that it can not survive. Nor does it take into account a single woman who has three children and two full time jobs. These are all situations that may require counsel from her partner, her spiritual advisor, or her doctor. These are not decisions that should be made for her by her government.
