About The Artwork
This work was inspired on a day of a big storm with lots of thunder and lightning. The rain fell throughout the day and there were moments with a lot of wind and an explosion of sounds and hail. I did it while I listened and watched the downpour through the window. It is gesso and acrylic on canvas.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
