About The Artwork
Autumn comes quickly and dramatically to Minneapolis. This cafe, which revitalized an older warehouse space in the city's arts district, draws crowds at all times of day and serves as a de facto community crossroads. I was struck by the play between the interior space and the dramatic colors of nature displayed outside, the dramatic light streaming in the windows, and the way the woman with the red jacket glowed at a certain point almost as if she was part of the seasonal turning outside. This also feels like a moment in history as people are consumed with their laptops and mobile phones, something we did not see 20 years ago and which will probably seem obsolete in the next 20 years.
