Rooster with Pipe and Iguana Painting

This piece is a contemplation of Mexican Folk arts but in a modern context of hard edge pop painting definition. The rooster smokes a pipe and carries an iguana in his arm, the green cloud above symbolizes an imminent storm or trouble, and him smoking a pipe symbolizes calm under the storm or grace under pressure. He poses his iguana to the front as a symbol of adapting to circumstance as these reptiles are known for such capacity. This piece was inspired by Mexican Folk Artisans which I see at work sometimes here in my city, especially Huichol culture, which always portrays these kind of messages taken from dreams and ancient teachings.
