About The Artwork
I painted this study of a still life with red dominant with the intention to go back to simple, honest observation for a while to reconnect with the basics of painterly expression. Here I wanted to brig out especially the vital expression of the red color, the soft contours of rounded volumes and the sensuality of different juxtaposed textures made more poignant by lateral direct lighting. The study was done in oil on 280g/sqm canvas cotton fabric sheet.
