About The Artwork
This work is part of a triptych called 'In Quest of the Self' and is not sold separately. Progressus - Transcendentia (Latin "progress - transcendence") is the third painting of the triptych and is a metaphor of the reaching a new level of personal development, getting closer to one's Self, represented here with the getting to the other shore. The trilogy was inspired by a big dream I had many years ago. The general idea of the trilogy is that a person needs to pass through a regressive stage in order to realize some basic principles that would later help them progress again. The other two stages (referred to in the other two paintings) are: 1. Regresus (Latin "regress") and 2. Constitutio (Latin "constitution").
