This painting is 31x24 in. acrylic and graphite on wood. I really gravitate toward piles of things in my imagery. This painting started from a pile of clothes and I just abstracted further from there, adding in crude shapes and different color schemes that are common in my work.

John Azoni is a painter based in the Detroit, MI area. He received his BFA from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit in 2007, and during that time also studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Center for Art and Culture in Aix en Provence, France. His work is bright, playful, and has a certain crude messiness about it. While he explores various themes, his paintings are more about composition, color, contrast, and movement.
