About The Artwork
This is one of my recent abstract landscapes, and is the sort of mental/dream landscape I love most to paint. My paintings like this make me think of flying, or dreaming, of sailing to heaven. I imagine lavender fog and a distant sky and shimmering places, and the process of painting like this grounds me and reminds me of my journey which will end in peace and comfort. I hope you enjoy the serenity and peace which I meant to paint into this one. It's painted on standard stretched canvas, 11" x 14", and is done in alkyd oils with brushes and a painting knife. The palette of colors is beige, orange, gold, lavender, pale blues, and sepia. There are lots of speck of other colors, too.

I am a a visual artist living and working in Cumming, Georgia, in the U.S. I studied art in college and have had my work in various galleries and shows down through the years, but primarily have sold through various online venues in the last five years. I wish I could say I have a consistent style and focus right now, but my art is in a confused state of change right now as I approach the end of my parenting years and face my "what do I want to do next?" years. I love many different subjects, especially landscape and florals, and my style tends to be soft realism which borders on impressionism or at times, even abstraction.
