My Wild Garden, September Painting

Wild Garden is a series of paintings inspired by the garden I planted in concert with nature. In fact I have let the garden run wild. The weeds are as welcome as the flowers, shrubs and trees that I planted. I am a city girl transplanted to the country with no experience of how things grow. It didn't take long before I realized that I did not want or want to care for a large front lawn. I wanted a place that birds and bees could flourish and so I stopped weeding and although I planted a number of trees and shrubs, the rest of my property was left to grow as it wanted.
