About The Artwork
I moved from a large city to a small town a number of years ago. As a city girl it was the first time I had to deal with any land. Although my house was situated on a small lot 1/4 of an acre I was overwhelmed by how quickly nature takes over. I eventually transformed the barren front lawn to a free form garden planting apple trees and a cherry tree and numerous shrubs. It is a low maintenance garden for the simple reason that I let weeds grow. This series of paintings is inspired by that garden.
