Malala is the second in my Heroic Women Series, women who inspire me and others around the world. Malala is the youngest person to receive The Nobel Prize. She survived an attack by the Taliban but when on to inspire people worldwide with her courage in the face of trauma. She fights for the education of women, no matter where they live. You can see her strength in her face. When I am discouraged I remind myself to sit up straight and think of her.

Presenting her with clear values of black, white and gray underscores her strength. She is a modern woman and this is a modern portrait treatment.

Claude Truong-Ngoc's 2013 photo was the reference for this painting.18 inches wide by 24 inches in height, oil on canvas board. Floating contemporary silver frame.

I traveled the world pursuing career tracks first in Publishing and then in the frontier of Computers. I don't do that any more. Having done my time I can now follow my passion. Women have a right to find personal fulfillment. This is my moment. It begins when it begins, whenever that is, wherever I am.
