About The Artwork
John Olsen is an established Australian painter and artist who's practice inspires me to travel to outback Australian to paint en plain air - outside. Ive travelled a lot all my life, as a child, through my teens, and twenties and through out adulthood, Ive always drawn and photographed the trip, and the places I've visited. Painting outdoors, has its own challenges, and this was a study in the studio of a plain air sketch. The river bank was dry in the middle of summer, The Australian sun was saturated with intensity. A peaceful, joyful energy is recalled in the painting.
