About The Artwork
Mas Fabian is an empty farm house near my studio in Catalonia. I did a few small studies of it and a larger work (the number 1). Whilst working on this Spring moved into Summer & the idea shifted as the dazzling light wiped out all detail in the foreground. The huge pine tree & it's shadow on the house defined the image. So a version second had to be started. I shifted my viewpoint several times over the time I took on the painting.
