About The Artwork
Manquehue is the tallest hill in the Santiago Valley, today it is surrounded by the city and many people hike it to see the wonderful views it provides. It once was much more greener and full of wild life its name meaning place of Condores. In the painting I depicted a Loica or long tailed meadowlark, and the pine trees green on one side and covered in snow on the other. To the mapuche people the visit of a loica is considered good luck.
