About The Artwork
Morpheus was for Greek God of sleep, and with his brother Hypnos, he was represented with opium poppies which that gave oblibvion. The oblivion I wanted to evoke in the most difficult moment of the lockdown from Covid19. My MORPHEA is, however a girl who adorns her veils and hair with poppy flowers, but also enjoys the light and impalpable company of butterflies. The big blue butterfly is called, in fact, Morphea. The painting makes use of a non-random choise of colors, with blue, the dream color par excellence, the black of the background from which the figure emerges, and the purple of the poppie.

Titti Garelli was born in Turin, where she lives and works.For over twenty years her pictures have been requested by the publishing world and by major international advertising agencies.In 1990 she started exhibiting her works in art galleries in Italy and abroad. In 1993 she illustrated with lithographs (painted by hand with watercolours "Les Fables de La Fontaine" in the precious edition - numbered and signed in 75 copies - of the Great SAceries.
