Into the Mystic 12” x 12” acrylic on canvas Dedicated to: Van Morrison Gratitude This painting is one of 4 that I painted for day 21 of a Music is Magic series I did in early 2018. [entire collection: www.courtneycotton.com/blog] I think the 12” x 12” format lends itself to helping me finish a painting a day, however, it is restrictive. I’m taking a break today so in lieu of a painting inspired by a song I am dedicating this intuitive painting to one of my all time favorite artists. The color significance: WHITE = purity, GOLD = illumination, love, compassion, courage, passion, magic, and wisdom, GREY = the dichotomy of pain and healing PINK = hope and encouragement GREEN = healing power and rest BLUE = nature, freedom & wisdom ORANGE = joy, expression, sunshine, warmth, sexuality & creativity
