About The Artwork
Hay Fever is a 76.5cm x 102cm abstract painting using a combination of materials in pink and green tones on a stretched cotton canvas. Acrylic paints, gels, cracking clay paste and pumice paste are used in combination on a canvas to create a bold and textured painting. Samuel loves the green and pink combination and thought it would be a fitting colour palette for the Supawan Restaurant and Aflorum florist where it is on display. He chose the name with the florist in mind also. Samuel has used overlapping circles in this painting to create a heterogeneous abstract shape. The pink blobs overwhelm the green background creating a chaotic and vivid composition.
