Although it may not be obvious from the first glance, this artwork is about love … One day spent together. Rented house. The snow covered everything within an hour. A grey veil outside the window, impression like the house is flying. And nothing exists around us anymore. Only two of us … An apple was used as a symbol in art since anscient times. In my work it symbolises a secret behind the scenes, something for your imagination to add to the contest of the aretwork. This painting closes the series "Weekend".

About The Artwork

"Green Apple," from Alexander Levich's deeply personal "Weekend" series, stands as a testament to the silent language of love and shared solitude. This expansive canvas is a snapshot of serenity, where the focus is a singular green apple that holds a world of meaning in its simple form. Levich's masterful use of light creates a juxtaposition of the interior's warmth against the cool, distant sky, inviting the viewer to explore the balance of elements within the frame. Levich's painting embodies the essence of still life with a modern twist, where the narrative is as much about what is seen as what is unseen. The artwork becomes a meditative space, a place for personal reflection, and an acknowledgment of the unspoken bonds that connect us all.

What is the most important thing in life? It's not the external surroundings but our inner world. Painting serves as the key that unlocks this realm. By following this path, one learns not just to look, but to truly SEE. Through my art, I delve into profound content. Painting becomes a medium of communication, a canvas for thoughts. The questions are always deeper than the answers, and the answers are discoveries we make within ourselves. My paintings serve as guides, leading you along the pathways of your own thoughts. I aim to offer you the joy of connecting with your inner world, the luxury of harmony and solitude in communication with yourself. I was born in 1963 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and in 1987, I graduated from the painting faculty of the Kyiv Art Academy, under the guidance of Professor A.M. Lopukhov. Since 1990, I have been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. As a professional artist with over 30 years of experience, my artistic journey can be divided into two main periods. The first period, which spanned over 20 years after my graduation, can be described as "Metarealism." The second period, which I refer to as my "return to realism," began around 2010, you may explore my artworks from both periods showcased here. If you would like to delve deeper into my portfolio, view additional paintings beyond those displayed on this website, or if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly via email at a.levich@protonmail.com. You are also warmly welcome to visit my studio in Kyiv. Thank you sincerely for your interest.
