About The Artwork
The original Ghostbusters film was shot here. This fire (house) station is four blocks from me and has been in my memory since I moved to this neighborhood on the Canal Street side of TriBeCa in 1974. I chose to paint it at dusk under a full moon with the fire house lights on to further enhance the Ghostbuster's story. My son, now a fireman, grew up here and this station was his favorite place to visit when we walked to his school. He recently gave me the challenge to paint NYC Firehouses and this is the second one I've painted. I'm loving it!
