Perhaps the painting shows the origins of my stressing the idea of a dualism in many of our realities - conveying both physical and mental aspects, constantly interwoven - both in our own self - as issues of Body and Mind, - and then projected in widespread realities as issues of multiform contests on Earth, linked with forms of developed Intelligence. The sphere, then - here seen as wrapping the earth, while floating in space - may symbolize, through its geometric properties, the search (in 'physical' terms) for harmony (today even turning into a symbol of ‘ideal’ globalization). The cone, in its turn, becomes the symbol of widespread Intelligence, seeking – with its apex pointed towards the sphere – constant contact, and even infusing, through its own geometric properties, the same search for harmony. Its base, above, conveys, through the perception of constant rotation, the potential wish towards the infinite.

To the lessons of Maria Dal Conte, my Teacher of Art at High School, and later, after University, to the lessons of Liliana Barbieri, an artist from Brera Academy in Milan, I owe most of my beginnings in artistic activity. To my teacher of Philosophy, Renato Tisato, and, later, to the acquaintance of Rossana Bossaglia, Professor of the History of Art, I think I owe a great deal as well.
