About The Artwork
The image is taken from photos and memory of time spent in woodland in Perthshire, Scotland. I look at the forest environment like a womb, where nourishment and protection are provided through the finely tuned ecosystem to all the living organisms that reside there. The sunlight that creeps through the trees breathes life into this system, awakening and bringing growth. I have used oils for this painting, as I usually do, as they give the fluidity and depth of colour to the images that I love. I can move the paint around on the surface, to create varying degrees of contrast and fusion.

Born in Perth, Scotland in 1979. Lynsey's paintings of garden and woodland details, in oils on large canvases, are strikingly rich in colour and highly sought after. Her inspiration comes from the cycle of nature, and the wonderful colours each season produces. She is fascinated by the effects of sunlight on plants, which create unusual patterns, glowing edges and wonderful contrasts, which she photographs and paints from. Her work is exhibited regularly in galleries around the UK, at art fairs, and is held in public and private collections around the world.
