About The Artwork
From my series of Italian women. Italian news print applied to a stretched standard canvas. Sepia acrylic ink washed over the news print. The model was then sketched on top of this background with acrylic ink pen and cross hatching added. Thicker acrylic paint was added to give the model and surroundings form. All edges of the canvas are painted and it is ready to hang.

I was born into a family of practicing artists with the smell of paint and pencils wafting through the house. I was trained as a carpet designer, attending art college for three years part time while being mentored by an experienced designer in the studio of the company I was apprenticed to. The basic training was that of any fine artist and I have always painted. Most of my paintings are based on sketches and photographs that I have made of people, places and things. I have sold paintings through out the UK, USA and Saudi Arabia. I have exhibited at the Birmingham Open, Harris Brush Works and The Malvern Theatres in England. I hope you like my paintings.
