Emerald Lake Painting

Emerald Lake is a stunning, contemporary landscape, which has amazing depth and color. Steep mountains rise up out of a glacial lake and a strong teal stripe reflects off the water. Inspired by Green Lake in Whistler, BC. The colour palette is full of blue, green and mauve shades, accented with tiny bits of acid yellows and a stripe of electric teal. Angela Seear paints in a very graphic style that straddles expressionism, minimalism and abstraction. She uses specific color palettes to evoke certain moods and tell the entire story of the scene. Her work is often described as relaxing and can bring a calming element into a room. Angela paints landscapes that allow people to escape from their reality, by evoking memories of distant places. She doesn't represent every detail when painting, because it allows the viewer to fill in the blanks with their own memories, making the piece more personal to them. Using light and specific colour combinations, she paints slightly abstracted, almost dreamlike scenes. Angela often works in layers of transparent and opaque paint, letting the colours overlay, creating texture and depth. We all have reactions and relationships to colour and Angela strives to bring greater meaning into her work by exploring these combinations and the feelings they produce. This painting is painted on a sealed and sanded, extremely high quality wooden art panel, with artist quality acrylics. The facing on the panel is thicker than regular art panels and has a 1/4" thick front. It is wired on the back with thick D-Rings and plastic coated framing wire, rated to 30lbs. It comes ready to hang or you can frame it to suit your interior style.
