Electric Painting

Ianitza paints fleeting moments of human motion in water captured by light. Her work explores the possibility and potential where abstraction and representation meet and coexist. She often uses lenses to destroy, familiarize, and recreate the human form, challenging viewers to in the act of deciphering the figurative landscape. Her work explores notion of identify, what is real and unreal. From a distance or on a screen, her paintings looks hyper realistic, yet up close, the painterly brushstrokes become playful abstractions.
